Privacy Policy
Last updated 15 August 2026
SearchMLM is built to be read without an account. This policy explains the limited data we handle and the choices you have.
Who we are
SearchMLM.com (SearchMLM) is an independent research platform documenting network-marketing opportunities. For the purposes of data-protection law, we act as the data controller for the personal data described below.
What we collect
- Usage & technical data — standard server logs (IP address, browser/device type, pages requested, timestamps) generated when you visit, used to operate and secure the site.
- Visitor analytics — for internal use only, never shared with or sold to third parties. When you visit, we record which pages you view and in what order, the site or search engine you arrived from, your approximate location (city/region, derived from your IP address — not precise/GPS location), and your device type, operating system, and browser. This is tied to a randomly-generated identifier stored in a cookie on your device so we can see a single visit as one journey, not to your name or account. Full detail (including the IP address itself) is kept for 90 days and then deleted; aggregated, less-identifying summaries (e.g. “12% of visits are from India”) are kept longer to track trends over time.
- Account data — if you sign in to contribute, your email address, used only to send the one-time sign-in link and to associate your submissions with you. There is no password.
- Contributed content — the text of any experience you submit, plus optional fields such as country and your role (e.g. former member). Submitted content is intended for public display after moderation.
How we use it
- To operate, secure, and improve the platform.
- To send sign-in links and process and moderate contributions.
- To detect and prevent spam, abuse, and fraud.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Legal bases (where GDPR/UK GDPR applies)
We rely on our legitimate interest in running a secure, functional research platform for usage data and moderation, and on your consent (given by submitting) for publishing contributed content. You can withdraw consent by asking us to remove your content.
Service providers
We use a small number of processors to run the service: Vercel (hosting/CDN) and Supabase (database and sign-in). These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms. We do not share personal data with anyone else except where required by law.
Cookies
We use a strictly-necessary cookie to keep you signed in when you choose to log in, and a separate, randomly-generated cookie (no personal information stored in it) to connect your pageviews into a single visit for the internal visitor analytics described above. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not share this data with advertising networks or any other third party.
Retention
Server logs are retained for a short period for security and diagnostics. Visitor analytics detail (including IP address) is kept for 90 days and then deleted, as described above. Account and published contribution data are kept while your account or the published content remains active, and removed on request as described below.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these — including correction or removal of personal information in published content — email contact@searchmlm.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Changes
We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above.
